States: Info for fans

We’re just four short days away from the start of the New York State Wrestling Championships at the Times Union Center in Albany, and there’s some important information for fans that I wanted to post for those who will be making the trip (and for those who will be tracking the action from home).

Tickets are available for purchase online, and I believe they started at $12 per day. Parking isn’t necessarily easy to find on the street, but there are various lots within walking distance of the arena that are moderately priced. For those who haven’t been, it’s a big venue, and it creates a big-time feel for the event.

If you’re staying home, not to worry, because I’ll be there in full force. I will post results on the blog after each round, plus videos, quotes and general reaction. Of course, if you want to keep up with the action minute-by-minute, then you’d better follow me on Twitter @vzmercogliano. To see full brackets, visit the NYSPHSAA website and go to the wrestling page. (Or, just click here)

I’ll have some preview stories coming later in the week to get you prepped for what to look for from Section 1’s best, but here is how the schedule breaks out for the weekend:
