It’s fitting that we start off our ‘Meet the Champs’ series with the Division 1 tournament’s Most Outstanding Wrestler. Pearl River’s John Muldoon captured his first section title on Monday by defeating the No. 1 ranked wrestler in the state at 120 pounds, Ossining junior Alex Delacruz, with a 10-7 decision. Delacruz beat Muldoon in the section finals last year when Muldoon suffered a concussion in the match, which had to make this win over his rival that much sweeter. Looking ahead to states, Muldoon looks like one of the locals with the best chance of making some serious noise.
