any wrestle back results
MURRAY WON
Muldoon beating Delacruz 7-4 in the 2nd when Delacruz gets DQ’d for biting his arm!
Wasn’t up there, don’t know what went down, but Delacruz has a nasty looking eye right now…
De la Cruz, was thrown out of the tournament for biting Muldoon wen Muldoon crossed faced him, Match was 7-4 Muldoon at the time of the dq, de la Cruz had the first takedown too. Will hurt big time come sectionals as he also now has a loss to tolli and could end up as the 4 seed at sectionals. 120 is so good in section 1 this year, you could argue as of right now trey aslanian is the 5th best 120lber in sec 1. Nuts
1. Muldoon
2. Delacruz
3. Toli
4. Benderoth
JMO
OSS pride,
You could argue that but you’d be wrong. In his second match Trey got key locked and thrown over to his back. The move, legal in certain situations, was questionable at best. He hurt his shoulder, used all his injury time, but kept wrestling. He then had it done to him again. I guess he didn’t learn his lesson. But, to take one tournament and say he doesn’t perform on the big stage is ridiculous. He has been to Fargo the last 2 summers and was on team NY that went to the national duals in Oklahoma and last I checked he performed just fine. Fargo AA and 7-1 at the duals.
Not that last years results carry over but I think he did just fine against Muldoon last year and he was a finalist.
Jealousy of a high school senior is so small minded.
Let’s see how the season plays out. This tournament is a big one but I promise you no one remembers the fact that Dylan Realbuto lost in the finals to Mark R. last year. Nor will they remember that he lost to Alex at Sectionals.
What will they remember …...
D2, where you getting all this stuff. No where did the guy say trey doesn’t perform on big stage, u did. I didn’t see any jealousy, 4 kids at 120 placed Trey didn’t. He said he was 5th best, which he was this weekend. I think you my have overblown things a little.
Suffern didn’t have one wrestler make it to quarters…what an absolute disgrace. Can anyone say this program is heading in the right direction???? I guess that depends if you have pride or not. Time for a change, this is absolutely unacceptable.
Huh,
Your right. I just spent the last few minutes reading the blog after a few days away and all the anti Trey sort of melted into my response.
Muldoon will be at the Edgemont tournament Saturday. Should make for an interesting final !
Muldoon and Trey would be a fantastic final. Unfortunately it won’t happen. Muldoon, I believe has reached his tournament allotment.
Muldoon also has rockland county championships which is a tournament left
De la Cruz and tolli will both be at beacon this weekend. Please note it is the beacon not bacon tournament, no need to use your teeth.
Rockland on the rise
Lame. He got pinned by Trey twice last year.
Grappling who gives a rats a$$ about last year?? The fact is Muldoon lost a few matches to some of the bigger names last year. The section final he was knocked out and then got pinned. The kid put in the work this off season and now he is in the conversation with the state ’s best division 1 and 2. This year that kid went out and sought every high caliber kid at 120 or 126. His only loss is to section 11’s top ranked wrestler and didn’t meet Delacruz in the finals. He got him at easterns in the semi’s and beat him. Stop the BS and give Muldoon the credit he’s earned!
Let’s make Muldoon the Grand Marshall at the Pearl River (what river?) St. Patrick’s day parade!!!
Next topic please! Like sabella’s great match with Reggie and the crazy flip defending the single leg (check out video by Vince)
Or, the gripping dynasty
Or new ro’s “barbarian”!!! What a performance.
Or how blessed we are in section one to have a class like 120.
Or about what a sick section final at 182. I think vince mentioned in his latest ranking that Grella was the top contender. Vince got it right. Both Murray and Grella had a good run at es. Finishing 5/6
Or nanuet’s big man.
Pick one, any one, but STOP the negative bs. Too much good happened this weekend in section one!!!
Gripping dynasty was auto correct. Decent play on words though. Hopefully u knew it was the grippi dynasty! Yes dynasty.
Oh, and please watch Dylan’s finals match. Poetry in motion! Ref missed some backs. Old adage, don’t leave it up to the ref.
All of the trey haters you must stop Muldoon cant shine Treys shoes on his worst day.And someone said great performance with the new ro kid He beat a 7th grader 5-0 ARE you kidding me!!!!!!!!
Lets all stop. Muldoon is a very good wrestler. Don’t take anything away from what he accomplished this weekend. He performed.
At 182 Grella had to injury default to Murray for the 5th and 6th place match Grella gutted out his last couple matches barley being able to walk back to the center
Well Yorktown showed this weekend that they could certainly have four all-state wrestlers… And when that comment came out the first doubt was how Sabella would have to get through Williams, he certainly cut down some doubters. Should be a fun few weeks for these guys
Delacruz has to stop letting his opponents up. He gave two points away, finish them Alex! We all know you’re one of the best wrestlers in the state!
Last time I checked Sabella lost! Reggie is still the man to beat! How is Sabella’s leg?
120 is most definitely one of the most stacked weight classes I have ever seen in section one. You have 4 all state caliber guys in de la, muldoon, benderoth, and tolli and then tough sleepers like oliveto, powell, guevara, little rodrigues, maida, and probably some others that I am forgetting. 6+ former all section wrestlers in the same weight class lol.
For every positive comment there are six negative ones.. no one said Sabella won, but obviously a one takedown match could easily swing the other way next time. Violent movies and video games are ruining our society…. And extra large sodas…
Negativity on an Internet forum??? Say it ain’t so. All I care about is who has the most fun, why can’t we just get rid of sectionals, and give everyone a ribbon at the end the season. What’s wrong with people these days. Damn 32oz sodas
there ya go again. no one said everyone needs to win, hold hands, smile, and feel good about themselves. just people taking cheap shots at minors? come’on man! save that for the coaches, refs, parents, but leave the kids out.
was the loss to Tolli because of the DQ ? rough day
yeah looks like he FFTs to Benderoth and then gets a DQ forfeit over Delacruz even though he FFT’d out of the match before that, and he takes 5th without beating a single kid who placed. (FFT vs. 6, didnt wrestle 7th/8th) lucky day for Tolli, rough day for Delacruz
Just watched both DelaCruz and Sabella matches, both were robbed. Bite, what bite? laughable call by ref.
Williams takedown at end of match just was not there.
Too many refs trying to be wrestlers.
Eastern States this year was another great event, but hampered somewhat by questionable officiating at times.
Ref in Sabella match was at forefront of Realbuto’s last second semi final loss last year.
