Delacruz behind Muldoon????????
Top 16 are the only ones who are seeded when the tournament starts. Oliveto and talia will not be seeded unless 2 kids at 120 and 1 kid at 220 who are seeded drop out.
Vince, when will you make section 1 rankings?
Delacruz will need to have another amazing match to beat Peacock but could finally face off with Trey Aslanian wouldnt that be fun. Delacruz will need to show consistency that lacked a little least year.
Unfortunately little Grippi could run into Barabaria again in the quarters, but I would still love to see this kid place as a 7th grader at 113 (big difference from most 7th graders who would probably place at 99)
Nick Kelley vs. Nick Tighe if seeds hold would be one hell of a final
D-Real vs. Will Koll – wrestling your brother’s coach’s son (possible teammates some day ?Is Koll planning on wrestling for his dad ? is DReal an Ivy student ?
Jack from Danbury who beat DReal last year vs. possibly Benderoth, then Delacruz, Peacock, or Aslanian…
all of this of course goes out the window with bracket busters, kids who were seeded low/unseeded that are stronger than the guys above. But on paper some fun match-ups and clearly shows how Eastern States can be tougher than NYSPHSAA Championships depending on weight class
River Indian,
no head-to-heads this year… Alex didn’t place at states so he doesnt have much prestige points over Muldoon 1st section, over 2nd in section.. so Muldoon must have racked up more caliber of competition points… I know D’Angelo as solid of a kid he was didnt get Alex much points because he didnt make it off the island last year.
Also curious to see Realbuto against Mark West if they both make the semifinal
Kevin Jack from Danbury never beat Dylan…
oh right he lost to the Long Beach kid just like his brother…. Jack won 106 (lost to Dylan year before)
SMH
Muldoon ahead of Delacruz
DISGRAZIA
Ossining Fans stop complaining about the seed. Yes Delacruz should be ahead of Muldoon but you still gotta beat the best to win it! Instead of complaining give credit to Pearl River Staff for getting Muldoon good competition and racking up points. Maybe your staff should or should of done the same otherwise Delacruz will be seeded low at states also!
120 is loaded, most of the upstate D2 kids are the real deal. Just how many Paddocks are there in Warsaw? LOL.
As a freshman Delacruz beat the eventual state champ 2 or 3 times. Last year he beats state champ in Section 1 semis, then pins Muldoon in the blink of an eye in finals. This year he is Shoreline MOW. Now seeded behind Muldoon, unbelievable!!!
BiG QUESTION; has Dale White wrestled yet this year?
Lobien is at 285!!!
- White has not wrestled yet, apparently got cleared from an injury this week
Interesting at 138Dillon and Longo now both at 138 (should be a good sectional final match). Not really important for Eastern States unless they meet in the Consi bracket. The top 4 are really good, especially Tighe and KelleySection 1 fan, Delacruz was hurt the first 2 weeks of the season. Sometimes logic, over the not perfect point system, should be considered. Delacruz’s coach got him into the shoreline tournament so he could face Muldoon…only problem Muldoon didn’t make it to the final!
113 is as weak as it gets. Piccinni will beat these kids in his sleep.
Spladler I wouldn’t sleep on Keough or Lantry
I think the Stowell kid from Govenour is all-state ?? Maybe not ..
So with Stowell and Keough you have a couple of guys who have placed in the state multiple times.
@chiefwildeagle…crickets
There was a 7th grader who placed 7th in the 126 lb weight class. I wish I was there to see that.
