Although Clarkstown North lost by a wide margin to Nanuet on Thursday, one member of the Rams continued to take care of business in what is turning out to be a tremendous season. Senior Colby Kash remains undefeated after pinning Jon Spiegel in the second period of their 145-pound bout, as he continues to make strides towards his ultimate goal of becoming a section champ.
Since the dual meet wasn’t particularly close and I’ve written plenty on Nanuet so far this season, I decided to focus my story on Kash. He has been the standout for North, and looks poised to make a run to Albany this season. His biggest win came against North Rockland’s Matt Caputo during the Section 1 duals, who will probably be his biggest competition for a section title. Coach Tony Mellino spoke to me about Kash’s unique focus and organization, which he believes has directly led to his success.
