The tentative seeds for the NYSPHSAA state championships are up, and there were three Section 1 wrestlers who received top seeds (all in Division 1). Two-time state champ Brian Realbuto of Somers is the No. 1 seed at 152 pounds, with Sam Speno (126) and Danny Ventura (132) of Fox Lane also taking the top spots in their respective weight classes. Speno (112) and Ventura (119) each placed second in the state last season.
North Rockland senior Mike Caputo grabbed the third seed at 145 pounds, Somers senior Dom DeVita is No. 3 at 220, and Scarsdale senior Jacob Berkowitz is seeded fourth at 182.
Edgemont junior Trey Aslanian is highest seeded Section 1 wrestler in Division 2, claiming the second spot at 113 pounds. Ardsley junior Drew Longo is seeded third at 126, Nanuet junior Dan Breit is the fourth seed at 195, and Pleasantville senior Obum Anyichie is seeded fourth at 285.

Vince, even the states know that Delacruz is a Sophomore. When are you going to print a correction in the paper and on here.
In addition, for those of you that do not get the JN, David Occhipinti of Croton was awarded this weeks ConEd. Don’t know why it is not posted on here but now you know and congrats to David and also to mom and dad.
Congrats to David. He has a very tough match out of the gate at states.

hate to tell u vince, but Trey is the second seed, william Kole is the first seed since he beat trey last year in the finals
yeah some of our top seeds aren’t necessarily the favorites. but I do think Trey could definitely beat koll this year.
Overtime….Vince CLEARLY wrote above that Trey is 2nd seed. Not sure what you are reading but an apology is in order.
For whatever reason, there are a handful of folks on this blog that LOVE to point out minor errors. Remember, being critical is EASY, but it takes some thought and effort to compliment someone.
Vince, please do not let the small percentage of folks that do this get you down. They need their own self-esteem boosted so they do that by being super-critical of you. You have raised your game each and every week on this blog and many, many appreciate your efforts.

Guys, The seeding meeting was Saturday in Albany. I did not see any of you there offering opinions, suggestions or help. Yes, nothing is official until Friday AM, but ya know what? SHUT UP AND WRESTLE! If you are truely #1 it doesn’t matter what your seeded because you should beat everyone, anyhow.
