Sectional predictions
After hours scouring through each bracket, I’m finally ready to release my full predictions for the 2012 Division 1 and Division 2 Section 1 championships. For D1, I did the semis, finals, third place, and fifth place matches. For D2, I only went up to third place. Before anyone starts pointing out instances where I picked a guy to beat someone who he has already lost to, just know that I’m aware of all of the head-to-head meetings. Whether I have reason to believe that a certain guy may avenge a previous loss, or I just have a hunch, I did pick some “upsets.” That’s part of the fun in doing these types of things.
With that being said, most of my champs are either No. 1 or No. 2 seeds. There will definitely be some upsets along the way, but for the most part I think we know which guys are in the mix for titles. The final placings of each wrestler doesn’t necessarily reflect who I think the top four or top six guys are in certain weight classes, but rather how I think it will play out based on the matchups. I encourage everyone to play along and post your own predictions!
To briefly go over the plan for tomorrow, I’ll be at Clarkstown South covering D1, and my colleague Josh Thomson will be at Croton-Harmon covering D2. As always, follow me on Twitter @vzmercogliano for updates.

No dutchess county kids in the finals? Guess Its one way to apeal to your reading area. I’d bet the farm your wrong, and no not all of us in dutchess have farms.
Sorry you had Nunziatta, 1 kid still low in my book, im thinking 4. White, Nunziatta, Settembrino, and minasi.
I see Braun over Nunziatta. Minasi will be at best 5th. White is very very possible.
“Guess Its one way to apeal to your reading area”
Yes, that is exactly why he predicted those. He hates dutchess county.
Lohud is a dutchess free zone hahaha lol!
Vinny I love the work u do with this blog but it seams like u don’t know squat ur picks are not good but don’t mind me I’m drunk!
152
Porter, he has him winning the weight class in d2Pawling is in DutchessWhere the hell is dutchess county?? Haha
DeVita over Lilly in heavyweight final.
I’ll take Grippi in round 3 vs Srednicki.
The only loss Nunziata has in the section is to Sabella which was in OT or by 1 point. Forgot, but. He beat both butler and erickson this season and I think braun too
Nvm he’s never faced braun but another win he does have is against Murray at 182
kevin rodriguez over barbaria.idc
@jay. i think Jake will beat Grippi. should be a good match.
