Very limited parking at Croton High School. Last year there were people parking in fire lanes and worse at Irvington. Croton is making shuttles available from CET Elementary School all day long, starting at 8:30AM, wrestling not scheduled to start until 9. From Croton High School (make right onto Old Post Rd as if going to HS) continue passed HS to 5-way STOP sign. Make LEFT onto Cleveland Dr. then make RIGHT onto HUGHES ST. Parking is ahead to the right. Buses will be parking at PVC Middle School located behind the high school. Parking there could be tight as there will be a combination of 14 mini and full buses in their lot. There won’t be a shuttle from that school, you would have to walk through field behind school and across cinder track at HS, may be muddy depending on weather. Parking at HS will be limited to allow room for buses to operate and to keep clear for emergency vehicles which will hopefully not be needed. Its a tricky parking lot on a typical school day so the school is doing all it can to accommodate everyone.
again there will be free shuttle service from the elementary school which is only a couple minutes down the road, so should go very smoothly.
Why does Section 1 have a venue like this at a school that does not have the parking to accommodate? It is just ridiculous. The folks who organize these tournaments need to be replaced, they are terrible.
This is exactly what I am talking about . You are a mental midget. I didn’t say that a small school should have a big parking lot, idiot, just that a big tournament shouldn’t be at a school with a small parking lot when they expect to get a big turn out.
what big venue would you like to host D2 sectionals ? maybe they should spend the money on Pace for 2 days for D2 ? you know with schools cutting all kinds of athletics from the budget im sure that would go over well.
or maybe some large school would volunteer their mats, gyms, custodians, table workers, boosters, and such for D2 sectionals, im sure
the school is accommodating, it does have the parking, its just not all on site. there is a parking lot with say 75-100 spots for tournament workers, handicapped spots, etc. but if they opened it to everyone there would be blocked fire lanes, blocked in cars, cars parked on fields, cars parked in courtyards, cars blocking dumpsters that workers will need to get to unless you want bags of trash laying around in the cafeteria. If you were there last year they had to make numerous announcements at Irvington about cars that needed to be moved, thats exactly what you want to hear at a wrestling tournament huh?
maybe we should consider a big venue again, how about County Center so you can walk across the parkway to get from their parking lot, what no shuttle service for events there ?
I agree Gable Guy, but its almost the same amount of wrestlers, although they may be inferior to the mighty D1 kids, and you will not have to walk through muddy fields to get to the gym at Clarkstown South. hahahaha
Y Croton, your comical. I think you should go up to the Tournament director(s), as well as the sectional chairman, this weekend and tell them that you can do their job better. You seem to have all the right ideas. Classic.
Y croton really don’t you have something better to do in your life. You all amaze me with your insults. Tiger style seems to be trying to help. Put a sock in it will you
D1 will not give you our mats, table workers. Your lucky we let you wrestle in the same gym on sunday. Long island and sec 9 tells their small schools to get lost.
Tiger Style aka s1wss: Y Croton is a good question.
The D2 tourney should be at a larger more accommodating
venue. This is just a fact. No disrespect to CHIS and my friend Sammy.
But you have a point, a bigger venue would be best and do both D 1&2 at the same place.
@D1…in Sections 4 and 5the they tell the D1 schools to go scratch.
@Strong Island…you must mean Suffolk cause Section 1 owns Section 8 the past few years.
DZ…Degl Free Zone. But without Degl who would teach everyone to wrestle?
What would become of section 1? Who would come on here and shamelessly promote his business for free? Who would come to the finals and entertain us all with his silly clown act?
Please no more DZ.
If it was not for DiSanto there is no degal coach D gave him his start than that fat a$$ turn his back on him. Coach DiSanto had section champs and state place finlest before Cobra Ki, i mean iowa style and he have them after that jack a$$!
im laughing at this, Coach Disanto did coach section champs, in the weakest section in the state…. Really idk if there was much coaching involved or just very athletic kids (Mullaney). Misfud went to degl’s and the kid that was a state finalist looks like he just took bunch of steroids. Degl has turned this section from being last to 2nd in the state. Just count the state finalists from I.S.W last year, Realbuto, Duckham, Speno, Ventura, Realbuto, Malcolm and many other that placed. Idk if there was a kid in the section one that placed at states that never went to degals other then olive to
this sucks none of my comments will come up
Thanks Vince & keep up the GREAT work!!!!....

don’t go
why would a small school have a huge parking lot ?
This is exactly what I am talking about . You are a mental midget. I didn’t say that a small school should have a big parking lot, idiot, just that a big tournament shouldn’t be at a school with a small parking lot when they expect to get a big turn out.
Its not a big tournament. Thats at South on saturday. This is the small tournament.
i’m the mental midget ? who took it to insults ?

you dont HAVE to walk through any fields, stay home, or take the shuttle, or find something else to complain about
Y Croton, your comical. I think you should go up to the Tournament director(s), as well as the sectional chairman, this weekend and tell them that you can do their job better. You seem to have all the right ideas. Classic.
Shut up and wrestle.
y croton,
please tell us you’re a kid.
Y croton really don’t you have something better to do in your life. You all amaze me with your insults. Tiger style seems to be trying to help. Put a sock in it will you
Nice to hide behind a name and talk crap.
D1 will not give you our mats, table workers. Your lucky we let you wrestle in the same gym on sunday. Long island and sec 9 tells their small schools to get lost.
If you have a problem with the parking, email me at swaco132@Verizon.net
Croton High School will have mats, timers, scorekeepers, referees, and most importantly wrestlers. nothing more is needed.
maybe you want to go to some expensive wrestling club w/ valet parking and VIP seating but we just want the boys to get after it and wrestle
good luck to all wrestlers this weekend, be safe, get to pace, do your school proud!
DFZ
we’ll tell Section 1 both divisions to get lost, come down to the island where a kid who doesn’t place can beat 90% of your field
Yet your the one reading our blog strong island
gotta keep on eye on little brother, go ahead and make a case for a stronger weight class 1-5 in section 1
145 either suffolk or nassau.
Tiger Style aka s1wss: Y Croton is a good question.

Your right strong island, there are 50 kids in most d1 weights 10% of that is 5 kids. So your non placer can beat our 6th place guys??? Hahaha tool.
Menu is more important than venue, what kinda food we looking at? Not sure if I wanna see D1 or D2
pretty sad all d2 talk is about parking lots and food!! Make them all d1 next year1
im sorry that you think that’s sad
Love DFZ im changing my to it
Shake hands like a gentleman
avoid the trotI like PFZ or WGB better.
DFZ is so disrespectful to one of section 1’s greatest minds….DiSanto Free Zone.. it’s just wrong
Hungry, your first comment is the best post i have ever seen on the blog.
drug free zone, sends the right message to all kids, absolutely not DiSanto, its sad that someone would make that ASSumption
Who else’s last name starts with a d?
Degl Free Zone
fan,
What does PFZ and WGB mean?
DZ…Degl Free Zone. But without Degl who would teach everyone to wrestle?
What would become of section 1? Who would come on here and shamelessly promote his business for free? Who would come to the finals and entertain us all with his silly clown act?

Since Realbuto found Gold medal winners as tudors, Degl is back to being a takedown dummy at IOWA.
