There’s a relatively heavy schedule of dual meets for tonight, most notably Clarkstown South at Fox Lane, where long-time Fox Lane coach Joe Amuso will be going for his 400th career win. Already the winningest coach in Section 1 history, Amuso enters today’s match with a 399-137-6 record. Amuso has led his team to four section titles, all in the past decade (2004, 2008, 2009, 2011). I’ll have more on this milestone in my notebook, which will run in Thursday’s paper.
Here is Tuesday’s schedule:

Yonkers at Sleepy Hollow, 4:15 p.m.

Ok.
There are a lot of matches above. Someone who reads this blog must have seen some of them. Give us a quick breakdown of what you saw.

Edgemont did not have a match today with Irvington.
it was reported he was sick for the Edgemont match, but he hasn’t wrestled since then. Maybe they were told he was sick but he was injured ? i mean i rather hear it was an ankle sprain than an illness that would have him out this long because i can’t imagine that turning out good.
So with his absence I wonder what his weight situation is, I wonder how many weigh-ins at what weights he has. Same for Kyreakedes. No way of knowing where they weigh-in just where they wrestle. Calvano has been wrestling 132, makes me think he is weighing in at 126. but is he planning on going 122 after the break ? will he be back in time to make enough weigh-ins? has he weighed in at 132? if you dont have atleast 50% of your weigh-ins at one particular weight I believe you wrestle at the highest you weighed in at (not wrestled at)
D2 120/126/132 should be as interesting as any of the D1 wrestling
Blog,
Calavano was back in school today but didn’t wrestle. I heard he’s not wrestling until 2012. It looks like he has only 2 weigh-ins at 126 and will definately be going 122 after the break. Still havn’t heard why he’s out, but the rumor is mono. Dillon and Tomson will go 26 and 32. I think D2 120 will be about as interesting as 113. But I def agree with you about 26 and 32.
Longo, Occopinti, Dillon, Kreakedis. 2 go 26 and the other 2 go 32 Dillon is the only one with real pressure to win cause the others will get wildcards
Dobbs was supposed to wrestle Eastchester, not hastings. Their match with hastings has been cancelled for weeks! And that match did not happen due to an issue with the facilities.
I wanted to post a link for all the action from 12/20, but I messed up lol.

Brewster wasn’t listed….???? I wonder why? Anyway The Brew Crew crushed Pawling last night in their home den….and crushed Carmel the night before at home….Merry Christmas to all you wrestling fans! See ya in 2012…Congrats to Coach Amuso….he’s one great coach!

120 will be interesting if any of the guys go down. Calvano and Longo are certified for 120. These guys are all physically smaller than Occhipinti and he has beaten Kyreakedes. Longo and Calvano were smaller than Kyreakedes last year so they are moving up even more in weight. It is a factor, not a huge one, but with guys this close in talent every factor is that much bigger. Going to be fun to see who goes where the next two months and then who gets seeded where in February. could be a lot of research to see who has more prestige and competition points.
looked at the schedules on BOCES although for wrestling they aren’t exactly complete. Ardsley is a mess cancelled stuff everywhere dont know what is going on. But pretty sure Ardsley and Croton over the last few years have gone to each others tournaments. So Occhipinti and Longo could wrestle. Don’t think Nanuet is coming across the river until day 1 of sectionals, a day in which most of their wrestlers won’t lose a match.
