I’m sitting matside as we’re about 15 minutes away from the start of the finals at Yorktown HS. As expected, Somers will be facing off with the ‘Huskers in the first place match. The Tuskers are probably a slight favorite, but I fully expect Yorktown to give them a run for their money. In the third place match, we have a bit of a surprising matchup. Croton-Harmon will be taking on Ossining.
UPDATE: Somers defeats Yorktown in the championship match, 37-34. Despite some lineup shuffling from each team, they ended up with the same exact score that they wrestled to earlier in the year. The biggest match was at 285, where the Tuskers bumped Dom DeVita up to wrestle against section title contender David Varian. In a controversial finish, Varian picked up a takedown in the third overtime period to come away with a 4-2 win. I’ll have more on all of that later. Here are the box scores:

good job by Croton finishing above all other D2 schools beating Westlake, Put Valley and Dobbs by 25+. Been on a good run lately. Going to be tough to hang with Nanuet and Edgemont come end of the season but they look like they are getting back on track.
