The biggest tournament of the first few weeks of the season is the Section 1 Dual Meets, which gives every team in the section a chance to see how they stack up in the early going. Fox Lane won the Section 1 duals last season, and then went onto win the section, so success in this tournament bodes well for a team’s chances in the postseason.
The biggest change this season is that the Section 1 duals have been separated into two different tournaments — one for Division 1, and one for Division 2. It makes more sense to do it this way, that way we can get a better idea of who the early favorites are in each division. Another change from last season is that the four teams which advance to the semifinals will be reseeded.
I’ll be away for the weekend to cover fall sports state championships, so I probably won’t post much again until Monday. Over the next week or so, I’ll have some good stuff coming for you guys. Aside from more individual team previews, I’m also working team power rankings and weight class rankings. I’ve already started working on the weight class rankings, but I’m waiting to see where certain guys certify. Those can’t be released until after Thanksgiving, so look for those rankings sometime soon after.

Thanks.

Not at put valley that round is at Westlake
Without seeds for D2 I’ll guess
Teams not in tri meet are seeded ?
Edgemont and Put Val are 1&2 since they wrestle tri-meet winners
So if PV is #2 does that mean #3 & #6 are with them and #4 & #5 with edgemont?
Irvington finished higher at sec, Croton won in dual not sure who is 4/5not a big deal I think Croton wins
Despite coaches believes Im guessing nanuet didn’t drop any lower than #3 and will beat#6 westlake
Pleasantville might be the strongest unseeded team but prob Pawling, unfortunately they are in the same quad meet, whoever comes out gets a pretty good PV team but will give them a match 3 close quarter finals but edgemont gets a big win
I think its pretty chalked up, Edge over nanuet
I think sectionals will be a lot more fun. Edge, Nanuet, Croton, and one of Westlake/ Pville/ Irvington will also have 2. Section team title could come down to head to head finals
