Rich Conklin, the former Nanuet wrestling coach and current football coach, experienced a tragedy last year when his son Chris, 35, died suddenly in August. Five months later the unimaginable happened when another son, Ryan, 27, also passed away.
The Conklin family has been trying to pick up the pieces ever since. The other two Conklin boys, Derek and Sean, have created a Conklin Scholarship Fund that will benefit Nanuet students-athletes.
All four boys wrestled and played football for their father. Three ended up being all-state wrestlers.
