Andrew Lenzi was the runaway winner of our last poll, which asked who had the best chance to make the finals. He came through by not only making it but winning his second title.
Let’s switch the focus now to Section 1 overall. The section had 17 place-finishers, three finalists, and one champion. It finished fifth in Division I and sixth in Division II. Those numbers are much better than those over the last few years when the section was really struggling on a state level. They’re not as good as last year, however.
What I want to know is, how did the section perform relative to your expectations? Did you think Section 1 would continue to improve and were disappointed? Or are you happy that the section has achieved some consistency?
Remember when you vote that Andrew Lenzi is a Fordham Prep student and does not count toward Section 1’s achievements.

Grippi lost in con 2nd round at D111 nationals to a guy he had beat 1-0 earlier in the season. Finished up a great first season at Springfield.
