The storm of the season couldn’t have come at a worse time for wrestling fans. Albany has already declared a snow emergency after getting blanketed yesterday and today. It will remain in effect through 8 p.m. Friday.
New York is supposed to get another storm on Thursday evening that lasts through Friday. However, there are differing reports on how severely it will hit Albany, as you can read on this Capitol region weather blog.
Eric Romanino is up in Albany now and says it’s just raining. He also said that the state championships will go on through rain, snow, sleet, and hail. Doesn’t matter if some schools can’t make it.
I also heard from an official at the NYSPHSAA who left a little wiggle room. He said his organization will announce its plans tonight on its website.
If you’re planning to come up, expect the event to go on as scheduled. Check that weather blog and TimesUnion.com to adequately prepare for the weather.
