Yesterday was the NY/NJ regional qualifier for the National Prep tournament. Four Hackley kids and three Rye Country Day kids placed in the top four, which earns a berth at Lehigh University on Friday.
Qualifiers for Rye Country Day were Chibueze Nwakeze, who placed second at 160, Mike Pollinger, who placed fourth at 189, and Obinna Nwakeze (pictured), who placed second at 285.

The Nwakeze brothers lost to Blair academy kids in the finals, one of the premier wrestling schools in the northeast, they PG kids as well.
PG ? they dont curse ???
prep grad ? are the kids they lost to 19 or something ? for everything we hear about this kid from a blogger im surprised we dont hear from him now that there is actually a post on him
how hard can it be to place at this tournament, a lot of these guys didn’t even place at Edgemont…
RedR,
National prep qualifiers are not that hard. Unless you run into a Blair Academy kid you have a solid shot at qualifying.
Believe it or not, the dominant heavyweight Nwakeze lost to a freshman. Nwakeze was 32-0 and barely had any competition all year, even at the finals of Edgemont. I would say Nwakeze-Scopino would be a very good match. The Blair Academy freshman he lost to is a prodigy, he is the 19th best heavyweight in the country, as a freshman.
