Just got off the phone with Croton coach Sam Occhipinti. He had all the individual finals and consolation finals results from yesterday’s Croton tournament but not team scores. Everything I got is below. He said he’d look for the team scores tomorrow at school and send them if he finds them.
Sleepy Hollow won the tournament in back-to-back years. Edwin Jimenez (96), David Martinez (135), Ryan Tompkins (171), and Gilli Bauer-Moshi (189) all won titles. Pleasantville was second and Onteora third. Pleasantville’s Mike Kar had the most impressive win, pinning his 103 opponent in 18 seconds.
There was no overall MOW. Instead one kid in each grade was named MOW. Jimenez got it for freshmen. Pawling’s Hector Santana (145) got it for sophs. Mount St. Michael’s Donovan Melendez (112) was the lead junior. Among seniors there was a tie between Tompkins and Pawling’s Rob Schmitt (152).
Here are the results. Under team key I listed the top three teams first. After that it’s just alphabetical.
Team key and scores: 1. Sleepy Hollow (SH), 2. Pleasantville (Pv), 3. Onteora (On).
Burke Catholic (BC), Byram Hills (BH), Carmel©, Clarkstown North (CN), Croton-Harmon (CH), Dobbs Ferry (DF), Hastings (Hs), John Jay (JJ), Mount St. Michael (MSM), Pawling (Pw), Port Chester (PC).
